Growing up in a poor family in the early 1800s, P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman) demonstrates a natural talent for promotion and publicity. Despite living happily with his lovely wife and daughters, Barnum craves more, and his inner thrist of persuing big strikes when his father-in-law, from the elite, look down on him. After losing his job, Barnum turns to show business to indulge his limitless imagination, rising from nothing to creating the Barnum & Bailey circus that features exotic performers, catchy musical numbers and daring acrobatic feats. Barnum's show takes the world by storm, but soon find himself lost in this mesmerizing world.
